Spring Has Sprung in plezWorld

Sunday of last week it snowed in plezWorld, this Sunday it was 75 degrees and my daffodils made an appearance. Spring has sprung in Atlanta.

Halloween in plezWorld

Every year about this time, plezWorld gets into the Spirit of Halloween. As you can see, the bag of candy for the little ghouls and goblins sits waiting by the front door. And my daughter reminded me that she had better not come home from school tomorrow afternoon without a pumpkin sitting on the front porch!

Maybe it's because I grew up in North Tarrytown, New York, which is the location of the Washington Irving's "Legend of Sleepy Hollow". Maybe it's because my father used to bring home the biggest damn pumpkin around which we'd carve and leave on the front porch with a lit candle inside, while we munched on the roasted seed. Maybe it's because I had so much fun as a child going door to door yelling, "Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF!"

Maybe it's because I now live in a "cool subdivision that has good candy" that we get a constant barrage of kids in all matter of costume ringing our doorbell into the night looking for the sweet treats.



Or maybe because of the SugarPlum, my seven-year old daughter (shown here in last year's witch outfit), who plans to "terrorize" the neighbors this year as Sharpay from "High School Musical"!

Whatever the reason, let me say, "HAPPY HALLOWEEN, ya'll!"

Seemingly growing out of a bed of poseys, my Obama-Biden 2008 yard sign stands tall. I sent this pic to Blogger.com over a week ago when the sign was freshly planted, but for some reason, it never posted. Must be part of that vast right-wing conspiracy!

In other news, the lines for early voting here in Georgia grow longer and longer. Some sites are reporting waits of 5 and 6 hours. One commenter on this blog noted a 4 hour wait up in Dacula. My business partner noted a 5 hour wait in Suwanee. A good friend said he waited two and a half hours to vote on Friday!

Today's Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that a 2 to 3 hour wait to vote is the norm throughout the state. Read more...

More than 21 percent of eligible voters have cast their ballots in Georgia!

And CNN.com is reporting that long wait times for early voting is an affliction all over the United States. Very few states anticipated such a heavy turnout for this election. Read more...

Pineapple & Strawberry

What a day! I just finished a meeting with my business partners - we've been at since noon. It is now 9:00 PM.

The remains of the day are these pineapple slices and strawberries from lunch. It'll all pay off when plezWorld is independently wealthy!

The SugarPlum and I shared a bowl of strawberry ice cream in my belated birthday gift. Oh, it was delicious!

The bowl is an original design, it is a hand crafted and hand painted kiln-fired clay bowl that she created in summer camp last week.

This was evening our first opportunity to use my birthday bowl, since she was sent to bed last night without dinner for not completing her homework.

CNN reports that Barack Obama is only FOUR delegate votes away from the 2008 Democratic Presidential nomination.

It's historic, ya'll!!!

This makes Mother's Day number seven in plezWorld and it is becoming increasingly difficult to find a suitable gift for plezWife. Thankfully, the SugarPlum, the reason for the season, has become an invaluable resource in helping me ferret out the perfect gift for her mom. Last year was a cute Gucci purse... this year, she hipped me to the latest wishlist item: a Blackberry!

Since plezWife is the ROCK upon which the SugarPlum and I stand, it is only fitting that we honor her on an annual basis with something that is truly fitting our Queen. This year's marvel is one of those cold-blooded Blackberry Curves that you see on television... it is red, sleek, has all the latest bells & whistles (except a video camera), and it was just what she wanted!

Happy Mother's Day to all the MOTHERS out there in plezWorld, and especially to plezWife!

The Highlight Factory (Philips Arena in Atlanta) is rocking as the Hawks look to extend their improbable season to Game 7 of the playoffs with the Boston Celtics. The Hawks are winning 97-93.

I'm at the NBA Playoffs game with one of my Sands who produced some playoff tix for Game 6 between the Atlanta Hawks and the Boston Celtics. The Hawks continue to give top seeded Celtics fits at Philips Arena.

The Hawks have erased a ten point Celtic lead to pull within one at the half.

The SugarPlum Dance

This morning is the SugarPlum's annual ballet recital (Year Three). Her Saturday morning class will accompany the Atlanta Ballet Company dancers in a rendition of "The Toy Castle".

Spring Break - Day Three

It's Day Three, so we must be having a BLAST at Universal Studios in Orlando! Even though the skies are overcast, it is a balmy 80 degrees outside.

Even though it was a bit chilly and overcast today, nothing can diminish the splendor of my cherry blossom trees in full bloom. Despite the weather forecast of overcast skies and temps in the 40's, spring is in full bloom in Atlanta.

To celebrate, plezWorld will extend the weekend for an extra day in Georgia, basking in the springtime before returning to Milwaukee's remnants of winter.

St. Patrick's Day

plezWorld is not Irish.

I have no idea who St. Patrick was... okay, you can click on the link and get a Wikipedia definition. But since early childhood, I've donned a touch of green on March 17th. And no, I won't be cruising the Milwaukee Beer District this afternoon looking for green beer!

I do suggest that you wander over to SullsBlog and Suldog to get a St. Patrick's Day fix!

On yesterday, I had a Springtime blog entry all setup on my Treo 680, but have been unable to upload it due to a change in my AT&T Internet service. BUMMER!

The wild daffodils in my yard have bloomed; therefore Spring has arrived.

We must enjoy because the long hot Summer is only a few months away.

plezWorld is back in Milwaukee... and it's still snowing!

Palm Treo 680 - Speaker Issue

Alittle over one year (1 year and 10 days) after my purchase (just enough time for the warranty to expire) my Palm Treo 680 has started to act up. It is sporadic, but the speaker emits a buzzing sound instead of its intended sound (voice, music, or assorted beeps). It sounds fine when I turn the speaker off or use my Bluetooth.

AT&T doesn't fix phones and I have to purchase a new one at full price.

If I can't find a low cost fix for this thing, I guess I'll have to go out to purchase a Blackberry or an iPhone.

HELP!
